He squirms in his seat and folds his legs back from the dashboard, putting his feet flat on the floor of the car and sitting up straight. He twists around so that he's facing Reggie dead on, eyebrows raised and grin infectious. That was a challenge. Reggie's challenging him to prove himself, to bring something worthwhile to the table. He can do that. He'd love to do that. ]

I mean, sure. That makes sense. A hot, ripped dude like you - I bet you get all kinds of losers thirsting for your attention. Begging for you to spend some time with them. You deserve to have high standards. Not a lot of people do.

[ Flattery and ego stroking always work on Derek, and, well, more and more, he feels like Reggie's just a taller, slightly more built and significantly less wealthy version of himself. Derek's become a lot more forward since the death of his last girlfriend, a lot more willing to throw himself into toxic relationships and quick, flirtatious flings to pass the time until he falls in love again - and there's static in the air now, a clear charge in Derek's voice. An energy. ]

But I'm no loser. I'm like you - popular, funny, talented. I can be a good friend. I can be a great friend. [ He doesn't hide the way his eyes drop, the way his hand settles a little too far up Reggie's thigh to be considered casual. Might get his ass kicked, if Reggie's straight. [ It's been a few hours since the fight and things with Tate are... things with Tate, so Derek has enough time to text Reggie to see if he's calmed down. If he hasn't, well. Better to be ignored on text than ignored in person. ]

Sometime toward the end of August, Reggie will find an elegantly arranged gift basket hand-delivered to him by courier. Within is a tasteful array of artisan snacks and candies; some gourmet coffee in place of liquor, if only because the courier refused to deliver alcohol to a minor; a piece of handcrafted jewelry or small piece of art; and a black leather envelope clutch containing vouchers for various high end restaurants, theaters, entertainment venues, and spas around Maurtia Falls. In fact, everything down to the very basket itself seem to have been manufactured in Maurtia Falls.

A handwritten card accompanies the gifts. It reads:

"Maurtia Falls deserves to be celebrated for the incredible achievements it is already home to. If you believe that imPorts should play our part in elevating one of our Porter cities beyond its reputation, then Logan Delos is the ambassadorial candidate most deserving of your vote."

It's finished with Logan's scrawling signature, and contact information for his campaign, should anyone want to get in touch with him.

[ Fortunato generally gives the impression of being mildly on edge at all times. But today it's particularly bad; he's spent the weekend desperately trying to keep his mouth shut and failing more often than he'd like, and now he's got to deal with it at work. Luckily, he doesn't need to talk to many people here, especially when Danger isn't present.

...Which is why he's not very excited to have to deliver some papers to be stored at reception. He doesn't dislike Reggie, but he supposes he understands why the guy thinks he's a weirdo. Perhaps that's why he says what he does: ]

[ Delivered straight to Reggie's mailbox is a small, lightweight box that when shaken indicates treats of some kind inside. There's a note attached and when opened, the box reveals homemade chocolates. Nothing too fancy, just some simple shapes and flavors.

The note reads:
