[okay she doesn't know if that's a good price or not, but she does know that $50 is a nice chunk of change when you don't have that sweet, sweet registration stipend]
[ Reggie's thoughts exactly... plus, if she's come this far, he figures Utena might want to chill a little before she leaves again, to sit down or have a soda or something. Whatever the case...
He moves aside so she can come in, closing the door behind her with his foot. ]
I still can't believe someone just left a whole bag of amphetamines at your place, cuz that is like, hella lucky. You sure you don't wanna keep any?
[She tosses the bag to Reggie, glad to be rid of it. The quicker she gets rid of it, the quicker she gets rid of any sign that he was a part of her life.]
Like I said, it's not really my thing. If you want 'em, you can have them.
Hey, your loss is my gain. That suits me just fine.
[ He catches the bag without much effort, cracking his Red Bull can open to take a swig from as he fishes a pill out to take a closer look at. Her story is so odd and vague that this feels exactly like a set-up out of some old movie where a narc goes undercover at a high school, but Reggie doesn't think about it too much. This is real life, first of all, and who would even go to all that trouble over some pills you can get from a doctor anyway?
It's just... there's something weird about it. He won't ask, but it needles just a little nonetheless.
Reggie walks over, giving her two twenties and a ten from his hoodie pocket. ]
That should be all of it. You want a drink or something while you're here?
[Reggie's right on the money - there's definitely something weird going on here, and Utena's doing a crap job of hiding it. However, the good news is that it's not anything that's going to bite him in the ass. Utena takes the bills, relieved that Reggie's not asking too many questions, and after counting it she shoves them in her pocket. She could leave now, but...]
Sure, I'll take one. What do you have?
[It'd probably be weird to just leave now. Besides, it's not like she has anything better to do tonight. Go home alone? Think about all the screwed up stuff that happened over the summer?]
[ The nice thing about drug deals, aside from the obvious, is that usually it's an unspoken rule from the get-go not to ask too many questions. It's business, and as long as his own ass doesn't seem to be at stake, Reggie tends to err on the side of "the fewer questions, the better."
As in this case right now, because anyway, in the case of a set-up, surely that'd involve trying to buy from him, not sell to him. ]
I've gotttt... [ Reggie opens his fridge to take a look. ] Energy drinks, protein shake, beer, vodka, gatorade, apple juice... I dunno. What're you into?
[That's not going to be gross, isn't it? It's vodka and it's juice. You can't go wrong there. A second later, though, she realizes something feels off]
[ Arguably not as good as vodka and orange juice, but only arguably; it'll still taste good. Reggie gets out a glass to mix her drink in, briefly making a face while he pours and his back is to her. ]
Who, Archie? Yeah, he's gone.
[ He says it lightheartedly, turning around to hand over her glass and then taking a slow sip from his own drink. ]
It's okay. [ Reggie shrugs. ] Just means I can do whatever I want without someone else around to crowd me. Besides, I can always invite people over-- maybe to move in, maybe not. A guy needs his space.
[ It is a lot of space, though; yes, maybe even "too much" space for one guy by himself and a dog, especially considering the extra bedroom. It's nice to be independent from, say, his parents, but that doesn't mean Reggie is immune to regular ol' loneliness. He likes to think he is, though. ]
Mmn... it beats the government housing, at least. Don't get me wrong, not having to pay any rent is great. But you're just kind of stuck with a bunch of people you don't really know. It makes it hard to do anything fun, you know?
Sure, yeah. I can imagine. Not like knowing them would necessarily help, though-- I mean, I know both of my parents and that still doesn't make it any easier to have fun when we're all stuck at home together. Whereas now, I can have whatever kind of fun I want.
[ Perspective, or something. He sips his energy drink contemplatively. ]

[And, true to her word, Utena shows up at Reggie's place that night, waiting for him to open up]
action
[ When Reggie gets the door he's just wearing a hoodie and sweatpants, a can of Red Bull (Blue Ram? Whatever it's called here) in one hand. ]
Hey.
[ He's got the cash in his hoodie pocket, but he doesn't pull it out just yet, holding his hand out instead for the bag of pills. ]
Let me take a look. You wanna come inside or anything?
action
...yeah, let's do this inside.
[Realistically, she knows they aren't going to get caught. But still, doing this right out on his doorstop just feels like they're tempting fate]
action

Not bad. [The pad, or the drink?] I don't think I could do it, though. If I had this much space to myself I'd go crazy.
