I wasn't asking cuz I think it'd be a good thing. My dreams weren't even all that bad for the most part, and I still sure as hell wouldn't wanna deal with any more of 'em. Like, I don't even wanna think about all the damage control I'm still probably gonna have to do right now.
[ He exhales a bit hardly and sweeps a hand through his hair, holding Nick closer and kissing him on the temple. ]
Dangerous how? Same reason? [ Kisses him again. ] How can I help?
Well for starters Jughead of all people texted me wanting to talk about it. And like I mean, it went okay, I guess, but...
[ He shakes his head, shrugging a bit. It actually went a little better than okay, one could even say it went well, but it's still too weird for him to be able to admit all that out loud just yet-- it hasn't all quite sunk in.
And they didn't even touch on the sex, really, which concerns Reggie not because he actually wants to, but he dreads that means it may pop up unexpectedly in some future conversation.
He thinks about what Nick says next, brow furrowing a bit. ]
Oh. Yeah. I felt it too, I think. Or like... I felt something. [ And he kind of liked it too. Maybe that was just Nick's influence. ] But look, it was a dream, okay? It doesn't mean anything.
[He takes a breath, easy and deep. This isn't that hard, but he can't blame Reggie for not understanding what he's saying.]
Lucifer is bound in my body. But that doesn't make it safe. To go into my head? He might be there too. He might have more power in a dream than he has awake.
[ Reggie's lips tighten a bit, jaw tense, but then he exhales slowly and wets his lips, wipes his palm over them, in preparation to speak.
Exhales again, more of a sigh that time. ]
Look, Nick, I get it, okay? [ He takes his hand in his, squeezing it a bit. ] I know you're scared of like, what could happen. But nothing did happen. Not this time, and maybe never-- I dunno, but you can't just not ever sleep.
[ Hearing that still always makes Reggie's chest tighten a little, his heart turn over. It doesn't get old. Part of him always thought it would, that it does, and that's why things like praise or "I love you"s from people he most wanted to hear them from would always be so sparing, because saying it too much would soften it into nothing.
But it doesn't. ]
I love you too.
[ His arm curls around Nick's shoulders. ]
Which is why you gotta let me help you. If I can't do that, then what am I even doing here?
[ He's quiet for a moment too, but probably a shorter one, since Reggie usually can't stay quiet for very long. ]
I mean... [ A breath. ] I know that part's not always easy, there's people I haven't told about you, either. But none of them are my girlfriend. Cuz as you know, I don't have one.
[ Reggie isn't mad, although there's a vaguely uneasy, jealous stirring in his chest all the same. His brows furrow slightly, and he adds: ]
Wait, what do you mean she's not like me? I'm mortal too, aren't I?
[ It's hard to know what that really means, or if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but Reggie decides to let it go with a slight slackening of his shoulders. If he had to hazard a guess he might assume it's something to do with being more comfortable with all the outside casual sex, or with sharing, with loving more than one person, and frankly--
It's just better if he lets it go.
He sighs a little, kissing Nick back slowly and sliding fingers into his hair. ]
[ Reggie kisses him again, then again, almost like he didn't hear Nick say his name. Each kiss is deep and yearning, a little slower than normal, one hand stroking up Nick's neck while the other strokes his thigh. ]
Ronnie doesn't know about you yet.
[ It's not the same thing, not quite, but he feels like now is the time to mention it. ]
She knows I'm seeing somebody, but I didn't know how to tell her either.
Reggie's eyebrows raise as he nods his head slowly, then pulls Nick's head closer to kiss him again, biting at his lips a little playfully. His other hand slides around to rest on Nick's hip, squeezing it. ]
I hear you, Nick. Loud and clear.
[ Although now he isn't sure if he should mention his dream about her-- or about the threesome with Archie a couple weeks back, given this tension, even if Reggie and Veronica are nothing but friends anymore but the same cannot be said for Sabrina and Nick.
Reggie likes it too, though, seeing Nick get a little possessive. ]
[He gives him another kiss, and he knows that this is complicated, and he knows that it's also deeply and tragically unfair. He can't do this. He can't just fucking dictate this sort of thing, especially when Sabrina is right there, a handspan away.
[He turns a little, and looks over at Reggie, at Reggie's face, a little confused and just a little bit unsure. His weight remains solidly on his feet, though; he doesn't move away.]

[He rubs his eyes.]
It's too dangerous. I took a potion, but it-
[He makes this noise, and cuddles closer.]
It makes it harder to sleep too.

[He blinks, sleepily, but he is being tender, considering.]
The dream I had with you, the Dark Lord was there.
[He goes quiet.]
I could feel him, watching us. And I liked it.

I sleep on you, isn't that enough?

[ Moose yaps a little and climbs over Reggie's lap to plop halfway on his leg, face smushed against it before he falls back asleep. ]
Everything else has been okay though, I take it? Like no drama or nothin' like that, right?
no subject
I haven't told Sabrina about you yet.
no subject
[ Reggie sits up a little. ]
Why not?
no subject
[He goes quiet.]
-because it's not going to be an easy conversation. She's not like me. Or you, even. She's...entrenched in mortal conceptions of love.

You think differently.
She's not like you. I don't know.
[He presses his mouth to Reggie's.]
You're not a secret.

Reggie.

-strange. Unsettled. He doesn't like it.]

Does she want your contract?
no subject
No. We never even talked about that, she's contracted with Archie.
no subject
She can't have your contract. So we're clear.
She doesn't get to have you.
[Oh. Hi. Possessiveness.]

He gets up, then.]
Satan, you make me crazy.
