See you there in 15 then With some effort made to look good š
( Peter can't resist signing off with a sarcastic emoji, as though he's irritated about being told what to do, but quickly flings his device onto his bed to slick some pomade through his hair and change into something a little nicer. In the end he settles on something understated but nice, then shoves his device and wallet into his pocket before heading out into the oppressive heat of the Down.
He's five or so minutes late (look, he took a wrong turn) but makes it to the establishment without catastrophe, and even manages to make it seem like he belongs there when the bouncer gives him a cursory look up and down. Not being asked for I.D. is a novelty ā it gives him a nudge of confidence he sorely needs ā and there's a lop-sided smile slanting his lips as he approaches Reggie at the bar. )
Hey.
( He leans an elbow on the counter as he glances around, trying not to let on that all the smells, colours, sounds and people is kind of overwhelming all in one go. Sometimes those Spidey-senses are more of a hindrance than a help. )
So, you gonna tell me why we're meeting here?
( Because an Aladdin-style "do you trust me" isn't really going to cut it, sorry Reggie. )
[ Reggie's also dressed relatively understated but nice in a blue button up, a black vest, and black skinny jeans, already sitting at the bar nursing a rum and coke when Peter arrives.
He turns, leaning his elbow on the bar and raising an eyebrow as he looks Peter over. Not bad, that look says; he nods in approval, then cocks his head a little as he sips from his glass. ]
Take a seat, stranger. [ He gestures to the open one next to him, then leans his chin on his hand. ] Have we like, met before?
( What ... is happening? Peter just looks at him, puzzlement evident in the slight lift of his brows, before the penny drops and he realises Reggie is trying to pull him into a role-playing kind of scenario. Is this a burn? Is he messing with him to see how much game Peter seriously doesn't have? He swallows hard, contemplating just turning back around and leaving, but then again ...
It's just Reggie, right? And Peter seriously needs to sort out his quota, like, yesterday. )
Uh ... sorry, I guess not? You just really look like some guy I know.
( His smile softens into something warmer as he slips into the seat and gives Reggie a once-over in return. )
[ It's different, and maybe it'll end up being a stupid idea in the end, but when Reggie is struck by inspiration he's the kind of person impulsive enough not to overthink things very far ahead. And this?
Well, it should kind of kill two birds with one stone for Peter, shouldn't it? Reggie, at least, feels like he's being helpful.
He grins, sipping his drink again and giving Peter a wink of encouragement before he turns a little in his seat, crossing one leg over the other so he can face Peter a bit more. ]
That doesn't surprise me. I'm almost always hotter. [ He smirks, shrugging in just sayin' sort of way. ] So what're you drinking?
( What's he drinking? Peter's tempted to just go for a beer ā he has no strong feelings about it, it's just the first thing that pops into his mind ā but Reggie appears to have a something-and-Coke and he doesn't want to be left too far behind. He ca't really get drunk, but he can pretend he isn't a complete novice at this sort of thing. )
Uh ... I'll have whatever you're having?
( Peter gestures towards Reggie's drink as it sparkles in the glass. )
It looks good.
( And then he glances up again, his expression thoughtful and just a little bit mischievous. )
But ... I was always told not to take drinks from strangers. What's your name?
[ So, make it two: Reggie signals to the bartender, pointing to his drink and holding up two fingers. He and Peter are both regarded with a bit of a cutting look, but the barkeep just goes about making the drinks without further comment. ]
Here, try it. [ Reggie moves his glass across the counter toward Peter. ] I'm Reggie. Reggie Mantle.
[ He leans his chin back on his hand, letting his gaze creep downward to scan over Peter a bit more slowly, appreciatively, before his eyes raise back up to meet Peter's. ]
( Peter just snorts at the Look they're given before turning his attention back to Reggie, who ... alright, yeah, he's making his point. His easy confidence at the bar is definitely attractive, and the way he holds himself even while seated is kind of ā magnetic? It makes it difficult to look away, in any case. )
I'm Peter Parker.
( He takes the proffered drink with a little grin. )
It's cool to meet you, Reggie Mantle.
( A sip of the drink reveals it to be a rum a coke. Peter likes the flavours ā it's sweet and syrupy and goes down all too easy ā and he licks his lips before setting it down and leaning an elbow against the bar. What now? )
[ Reggie's smirk stays in place, though it softens a little, warm and just a bit coy. He's glad that Peter seems to be taking to the experiment, because it's kind of fun, so far-- Reggie's used dating apps to meet people and casually fooled around in clubs before, but picking people up (or vice versa) in bars is pretty new to him too.
He takes another pull from his glass and shakes his head. ]
No. For now I'm here alone, but I'm not committed to ending the night that way yet.
[ He uncrossed his legs, slowly, turning around so he's facing out, leaning his back and elbows against the bar counter. ]
Nope. I just wanted to get out, y'know? My roommate isn't home, the air-con in our dorm is kind of broken ...
( He lifts one shoulder in a shrug, letting his gaze slide over the curve of Reggie's body as he turns and leans back against the bar. Who knew that checking out guys would be just as enjoyable as daydreaming over girls in the school cafeteria? )
But you never know, maybe I'll meet someone here.
( But there's another little half-smile on his lips as he swallows a bigger sip of his drink. )
Hey, does it still count as a date if you meet the person on the night?
[ Reggie also shakes his head, though it's in that "effectively nodding in agreement" kind of way. ]
Hey, sometimes all we need is change of scenery.
[ He leans back a little more, crossing his legs again and looking Peter over again in a casual but assessing sort of way, deliberate and considering, before he raises his eyes back up to meet Peter's. ]
Well... [ And, with a shrug, he smirks and looks forward. ] Okay, maybe not all we need.
[ Taking another drink, he seems to mull over Peter's question, taking his time to swallow, wet his lips, and set the glass back down before he looks over again to answer it. ]
I dunno. A date sounds more like something you do with someone you're gonna see again? But if you just meet someone at a bar and hit it off ...
( That seems more like a quick and dirty hook-up, of which Peter has had the grand total of one. Two, if you count that second time with Tate, because technically they didn't realise they'd hooked up before until the masks came off. He looks over at Reggie, amusement glittering in his eyes as he nudges the other boy's ankle with the toe of his sneaker. )
D'you think we're hitting it off?
( What would a more confident version of himself say? )
Not always. Just cuz you have a first date with someone doesn't always mean you'll get a second-- it's more about what you do than how long you've known them.
[ Not that Reggie would argue there isn't a difference between a date and a hook-up, or rather, that there can't be, but what that difference is can also be subjective.
At least, in his own experience. But then again, in his own experience, Reggie hasn't always even been on the same page about whether or not something was a date as his so-called date.
Still, he smiles, and easily. ]
So far. Yeah, I do. [ He quirks his eyebrow, then leans a bit closer on his elbow, continuing in a lower voice: ] Maybe we should get out of here and see if we still hit it off one-on-one. Know what I mean?
( Peter just laughs when Reggie shares his opinion dating, because sure, that's definitely one way to look at it. He's still more inclined to consider this a hook-up as opposed to a date ā he suspects the other boy will feel the same way ā but he isn't about to bring that up and ruin their fun by taking it too seriously.
This is the whole point of his friendship with Reggie, right? It's good to have someone with whom he can be light and silly, even when he's on the quota-fulfilment clock. )
I .... could probably take a guess at what you mean.
( He swallows the rest of his drink and leans back to place the tumbler on the counter, before slipping off the chair and running a hand through his hair. When he turns to look at Reggie again it's with a raised eyebrow and a )
You got a one-on-one sort of place in mind, Mantle?
[ Yeah, now is not the time for serious, especially since Peter does seem like he's starting to relax and get the hang of things. Obviously it won't always be this easy, it isn't even always this easy for Reggie, but hey-- that's the point of practice. First step is building up enough confidence to even try.
And lucky for Peter, Reggie likes him enough to want to help. Because sure, it's much more necessary here to know these things just to get by, but Reggie thinks they're important skills to have in general.
Reggie finishes off his own drink too, setting it down before pushing off the bar so he can also get to his feet. ]
Well, a motel's probably out of the question... [ He looks at Peter's neck, then idly brushes his fingers up his own. ] But we could go check if the bathroom's free.
Seriously? The bathroom? Wow, I never would've guessed you were so classy.
( But his grin suggests that he's absolutely on board despite his teasing, and he reaches to take Reggie's hand as he looks around for a sign pointing towards the bathrooms. The Peter of six months ago would have been pretty concerned about the idea of hooking up with someone in a bathroom stall, but now? Trashy, semi-public hook-ups are kind of his thing.
... Sorry Aunt May, he knows you tried to raise him better than this, but. Teens will be teens.
Peter laughs under his breath as he tugs Reggie towards the bathroom, nudging the door open with his hips so that he can pull the other boy inside. He puts a finger to his lips to indicate silence so he can listen for company ā and they're in luck! That spider-sensitive hearing brings back a negative: they're alone and they're good to go. )
Looks like we've got the place to ourselves.
( He lets go of Reggie's hand with a playful smirk, then backs up against the sink to lean against it with his hips cocked just so. Making his partners wait for it is becoming a Thing of his, or so it would seem. )
[ Reggie shakes his head and clicks his tongue a bit, even though he and Peter have in fact already gotten busy at Reggie's place-- but both here and back home Reggie tends not to bring his dates and/or hook-ups back home if he can help it, and if this were a first time hook-up, that'd apply double to strangers.
And generally, he is just fine with trashy. Trashy is kind of Reggie's life a good 75% of the time, probably bumped up closer to 85-90% the more semi-public hook-ups become an even bigger part of it.
He follows Peter when pulled, smirking in anticipation, but then raising his eyebrow when Peter leans against the sink. Reggie steps closer to join him, hands falling to rest against his hips. ]
Sure, but-- [ Reggie tips Peter's head up for a kiss. ] You wouldn't rather do this in a stall?
Wow, I guess you're saving your bed for marriage, huh?
( But Peter just snorts, an affectionate smile curving his lips as Reggie moves in closer and tilts him up for a kiss. His own hands slide up the other boy's chest until they're light against his shoulders, fingers curling to keep him close as he gently nips at his lower lip. )
Mm ... sure I would, but what's the rush?
( There's a flare of bar noise outside the door as someone enters the little anteroom ā but then heads into the women's toilets instead of walking in on them. Peter presses his lips together to bite back a laugh before pushing forwards, moving Reggie with him: )
Okay, maybe you're right just this once? I mean ā not that I know you or anything, but. This once.
( He smirks as he ducks into the nearest (cleanest) stall and gestures Reggie inside, as though he owns the place. )
Or maybe I'm already married. Guess you'll never know, stranger.
[ Frankly, Reggie wouldn't necessarily be opposed to making it work over the sink, because even if they did get caught he wouldn't necessarily be the most exposed party, but-- it is still a little much, still a little too outright public than Reggie tends to be comfortable with.
So he follows Peter easily and without complaint into the stall, latching the door behind them before he herds Peter toward the wall. ]
And for the record, I'll have you know I'm always right.
( Because hey, if they're playing pretend, why not go all the way? Peter smiles easily as he's crowded in against the door, arching his body towards Reggie's as he slides his hands down to his waist so that he can tug him between his legs. A soft little hum escapes him as their hips slot together, and he rubs his lips over the cut-glass line of the other boy's jaw: )
And that kind of sounds like something a person who isn't right very much would say.
( But there's another broad smile curving against Reggie's skin, and Peter's fingers skim to the front of his jeans so that he can pop the button and pull the zipper down. )
So how're we doing this? You want me like this, against the wall?
[ That makes Reggie laugh, even if he's probably not someone who should be making homewrecking jokes-- he hasn't actually homewrecked anyone, not really, but he's come about as close as a person can without technically crossing the line.
But that's baggage for another day, another time and place. Reggie opens Peter's belt and tugs his jeans down past his hips, then grips his ass in both hands and lifts him. ]
Yep. [ He grins, eyebrows raised very matter-of-fact. ] Then what would someone who is always right say, wise guy?
( Peter flushes hotly and smacks Reggie's arm, breaking the illusion for a moment, but doesn't stop him form unbuttoning his trousers to work them down his thighs. He even helps Reggie lift him inasmuch as he reaches up to hold on to the top of the stall, his biceps working effortlessly to keep him hiked up on the other boy's hips. He could just stick to the wall, but ...
Reggie said something about liking his strength, right? May as well let him see it. )
I dunno, I figure someone who's always right would be kind of humble about it. Maybe even like, long-suffering, y'know?
( But he's laughing again, and one arm moves to card through Reggie's hair as he leans down to kiss him. )
[ Oh... yes, Reggie definitely can appreciate that little show of strength right there. It's helpful, too, because Reggie knows from experience that even if Peter is easy for him to lift, he's only going to get progressively heavier the longer Reggie has to hold him up, but mostly--
Mostly, it's hot. Reggie's head tilts upward, eyes lingering on Peter's biceps, before Peter kissing him forces him to focus again. Reggie grins against his mouth, kissing back roughly, then idly wetting his lips as he pulls back just enough to fumble a small travel-size bottle of lube from his jacket pocket. ]
Who says I'm not humble? [ He pops open the cap with his thumb. ] But why shouldn't I take some pride in what I'm good at? Nothing wrong with that. Seems like kind of a waste otherwise.
( That earns Reggie another snicker, and Peter just affectionately nips at his lower lip again before letting him focus on the lube. He's relieved he thought ahead too: Peter stashed a couple of sachets of lube into his back pocket just in case they found themselves otherwise without, but you know? There's no harm in carrying a couple of spares. )
You're right, you could be super humble for all I know.
( He shifts a little against the stall wall, tilting his hips just enough to make what's to come a little easier. )
C'mon, I wanna see if you're good at this, too.
( But Peter just grins, since Reggie also seems to enjoy getting to prove he's Good At Stuff. )
Then we'll see about how much pride you should be taking in it, huh?
Of course I'm good at it-- it's pretty much my number two talent after football.
[ Reggie adjusts his grip on Peter slightly, just so he can use one hand to maneuver squeezing some lube along his dick before he repockets the bottle and spreads the lube on himself with messy haste, then tasks his oily fingers with the job of beginning to open Peter up.
Slowly, though not the most gracefully-- it's admittedly not the easiest position to do this in, but they're making it work. Reggie's talents don't necessarily rely on refinement, anyway; perhaps, even, are often made even better for lack of it. He eases two fingers into Peter, flexing them slightly while he otherwise keeps Peter held up by his other hand and the pressing weight of his body. ]
And I don't like wasting my time doing things I'm bad at. [ He presses even closer, so he can kiss and lightly nip at Peter's neck. ] But I've never had any complaints so far, no matter what we were doing.
( Two fingers right away? Peter flinches just a little and turns his face away from Reggie, because no way is he spoiling this when they're just about to get to the good part. It takes him a few long moments (and a couple of careful breaths) until he's loosened up enough to take them properly, helped along by the way Reggie's fingers glance close to his prostate with a couple of rubs.
... Yeah, that definitely helps. )
Iā mmh.
( The kiss to his neck is a welcome distraction. Dropping his head back against the stall wall, Peter exhales heavily before hiking himself up a little higher just to make the whole process that bit easier. No harm in giving Reggie a bit more room, right? It's already a fiddly position ā although incredibly hot ā and when Peter's feeling a bit more comfortable he manages a little grin before catching the other boy's lips in a lazy kiss. )
Yeah? I guess you must be like ā some kind of sex Jedi?
( Peter smirks as he grinds down onto Reggie's fingers, a ragged little sigh rising to his lips. )

Yep. [ He grins, eyebrows raised very matter-of-fact. ] Then what would someone who is always right say, wise guy?

Well not really.
( But he's laughing again, and one arm moves to card through Reggie's hair as he leans down to kiss him. )
But I'm sure you know all about that, Mr. Right.

( Peter smirks as he grinds down onto Reggie's fingers, a ragged little sigh rising to his lips. )
I mean, you're definitely good at this part.
