( reggie mantle, douchetacular extraordinaire, is not sweet pea's ideal lab partner. not that they had much of a choice. that's high school for you, forced interaction with a whole load of kids who are very unlikely to ever get along. being from the southside doesn't make it any easier, but after all the bravado from jughead and show of support, it hasn't been as bad. doesn't mean reggie isn't still a mangy bulldog, but he might be less likely to bite now. that's good for both of them. they might get through this stupid project without killing each other. )

[ Sweet Pea is by no means Reggie's ideal lab partner as well; far from it, possibly even as far from it as it gets, although Reggie's temper toward him -- and Southsiders in general -- has admittedly cooled somewhat in the aftermath of Fangs getting shot. Not "best friends with each other and high-fiving in the hallways" cool, but at least "not trying to start a fight every time they make contact" cool; a lot has happened since then to change Reggie's mind.
Which is not to say he feels ready or great about spending a lot of time studying alone with Sweet Pea, but tolerating each other is probably doable. Probably.

I'm more curious to see if you even have one. Not totally convinced yet that you don't just live out of some supply closet.

Some of the Bulldogs might be welcomed more warmly around Sunnyside these days, but Reggie knows if there's still bad blood about any of them around here, it'd be him-- even before the incident with the gun, Reggie has been rather vocally and proactively anti-Serpent since day one, more so than all the rest. So realistically, no, going into the Serpent's den alone just for the sake of a lab report probably isn't worth it; it could amount to nothing, or it could amount to more violence.

( honestly, reggie is too easy sometimes. nevertheless, sweet pea enjoys the reaction, smirking as reggie agrees, no matter how grudging. is meeting at either of their places a bad idea either way? probably. but sweet pea feels more comfortable on his home turf bringing a northsider (even one as notoriously hated as reggie) than he would having to pretend not to be who he is in some spotless, perfect northsider home. besides, ever since hiram lodge bought sunnyside, the a/c actually works. most of the time.

Today at least he has no intention of escalating any confrontations that may or may not take place once he's at the trailer park, but it's his fault those tensions exist as strongly as they do in the first place-- he's self-aware enough to know that much. His unease may end up being unwarranted, but it's not irrational.
